Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview
Godsmack is leading the charge on this The Rise of Rock World Tour, where the Boston-based band is teaming up with a group of performers to bring nu-metal to the masses. Let's just call it like it is, metal bands aren't exactly headlining shows every other weekend in Syracuse, and that's why you can't miss this Godsmack stop on Tuesday, June 30th, inside the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater.
Godsmack's Awake is turning 25, and that's the excuse they gave to build an incredible rock tour that's going to feel like a one-day music fest. Stone Temple Pilots & Dorothy are among the bands that will be taking the stage as "opening acts." Here's your two-step strategy for the next few moments. If it wasn't clear to this point, the reason why metalheads can't afford to miss this performance is the vibe. If you're a fan of the genre and you're still in the concert scene, you get it. It's hard to admit this, but there's a chance that the band whose poster you had on the wall in college or at your parents' will not be hitting up these venues any time soon. Yet, having a chance to be a part of The Rise of Rock World Tour is worth the price of admission. The atmosphere at these metal concerts at these open venues is something unique. Don't be caught off guard if Godsmack start playing tracks from their 2023 and 2024 albums! The band's been busy in the studio as of late. Part of that has to do with the fact that Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill are the only two remaining OGs. So yes, this is a tour to celebrate the 25th birthday of "Awake," but it could also be a performance where these two guys are looking to draw a line in the sand. That could lead to more songs from "Power Hour" and "Lighting Up the Sky." Their two latest releases.
The front of this venue is going to be where you get a true rock fest vibe. There's some of that atmosphere to be had also in the very back of the lawn. That being said, if you were around for the release of "Awake" more than 25 years ago, then maybe a good seat in the middle of the main theater with a perfect path to concession stands and the restrooms is what's going to work best for you!
